Any way to get a bottle or a few of zippo lighter fluid for free?
Got my first zippo lighter finally and i need fuel for it and the closest place i know sells it is a smoke shop and its like a 2hr drive away. With this gas prices now i don’t want to drive that far plus its a pain. Any way to get it free from somewhere?
I have found this cig lighter when i was 15 in upstate NY, inscribed on the front of it is “BABE RUTH – MANAGER MILLS” any help on history / value etc of this lighter, Have contacted ZIPPO four and again three years ago, never got a reply from them, any HELP.
I did a Google search and nothing really came up except newspaper articles from 1932 and 1956, both containing “Manager Mills” and “Babe Ruth”, baseball related. So if the lighter was Babe Ruth’s or something, there’s a chance that it has a lot of value to it. I’d read the articles on the site but you have to be a paying member to do that.

It isn’t the brand zippo but it’s that style someone told me you can use the same lighter fluid that you use for a grill, but that didn’t sound right.
I know it isn’t a hobbie or craft but there is no lighter category
can I get it at long’s, rite-aid etc.
or do I have to go to a cigar/liquor store
Only use fluid designed to be used in lighters. If you use the wrong kind, the results could be very dangerous. Different fluids have different flash points and combustion rates.
If it’s a lighter like my dad had, turn it over, slide the case off, and saturate the inside with the fluid. It should be some type of fibrous material. You’ll also need to get flints.
If you’re not sure how to fill it, you might be able to get help at a cigar shop.
Windproof Zippo lighter is not windproof, any help? Also, casing is loose, why is that?
Sorry, had 2 b bried with the qs. Ive jst receivd a startbust zippo lighter frm my gf and when i perform the ’sqeeze’ trick, the inner casing moves up a bit and the lighter wont close unless i push it back down
2nd n most important prob is tht, when my lil bro blew on it, the flame extinguished immeadi8ly, almost like you would do so with any other lighter.
The lighter is a genuine Zippo
Plz help..
Are you talking about the “squeeze” trick where you pinch the top and bottom (the lid and the bottom) of he lighter until the lid bounces open? If so I don’t think there is anything you can do about the lighter moving up in the casing. Mine did sometimes when I would do that. Have you tried taking the inside part out and squeezing it a little then putting it back together? That might help.
As far as the flame going out, Maybe your wick is too short? How big is the flame? If it is small you might want to try adding some more fluid and pulling the wick out a little.
If that doesn’t help I don’t know what will.
Anyone who smokes cigars knows that the best type of fuel to use is butane and that some of the best lighters they can get are Zippos. They are reliable, and you can even light them in the wind, something that those cheap lighters you buy in the grocery store just can’t do. For years, they have been one of the lighters of choice among smokers. Recently, they came out with a brand new line of Zippo lighters called Zippo BLU. While they have many of the same characteristics of the traditional lighters, make no mistake: these are something brand new.
One of the unique things about this lighter is that the flame is pure blue and the flame height is set at the manufacturer. It lights reliably in the wind and it is easy to use. The lighter comes with an instruction manual that can tell you all about how best to use your new lighter.
One of the great benefits of these lighters is that they come with the Zippo lifetime guarantee. If you ever have trouble with your butane lighter, you will be able to find troubleshooting tips and you will be able to send it back for repair or replacement if it simply stops working. Because these lighters are so dependable, you shouldn’t ever have to worry about replacing it or getting it repaired. However, if you do, it is nice to know that the Zippo guarantee is in place.
In addition to being a great, reliable lighter, you will find that you can choose from an incredible array of styles. No matter the style and look you want, you are sure to find something that you are going to love. These are not just lighters that you use and forget about ” they are something that you are going to want to keep with you for the rest of your life.
It is important that you take good care of your lighter. When you care properly for the lighter, it can last you a lifetime. This means that you need to fill it with the proper butane fuel and replace the flints when necessary. Buying one of these lighters might mean that you buy the last lighter you ever need.

I am thinking of buying my boyfriend a zippo lighter with a message engraved on it. So far I have xmas ‘08.?
any ideas??
honestly, i don’t think you should but the xmas 08 on it. that’s just my opinion. it makes it too seasonal and, i don’t know, not for everyday use. have you thought about just having his initials engraved? or a spicy message like ‘you really light my fire…with love, (your name)’.
One of the more entertaining aspects of owning an iPhone is the plethora of apps that are available for your use and enjoyment. Some of them are really helpful, informative, or at least interesting: weather updates, celeb gossip, directions, movie times, etc. Then there are the completely superfluous apps that make you scratch your head and wonder why anyone would ever need that — right before you download it yourself.
iBeer is probably one of the most pointless apps, yet everyone seems to have it. It’s an app that turns your screen into a full pint glass of beer, and you can “drink” it by tilting your iPhone downwards. The beer then flows out of the pint glass. Sounds simple enough, yet it’s enough to reduce grown men to giggles when they all use it.
Tickle Me! is another app that seems to be mainly for the amusement factor – even if that factor does wear off pretty quickly. The app enables your touchscreen to respond to you tickling it, with a slightly irritating child’s laugh.
One that still makes no sense is Hold On, an app where you hold your finger in one spot on the touch screen for as long as you can. That’s it. This could probably be amusing for a bunch of drunken people who are pretending to be sober, but that’s about it.
Everyone loves to pop bubble wrap, which is most likely why the Bubble Wrap app is so popular. It just fills your screen with bubble wrap that you “pop” by touching each bubble.
While this one doesn’t do it anything useful, it certainly is cool – the PhoneSaber. It basically turns your touchscreen into a light saber, complete with visuals and sounds. It’s pretty awesome, yet there seems to be limited things you can do with it. Challenge your friends to a duel, maybe?
One that may seem silly, but has popped up at concerts and rock shows a lot lately, is the Virtual Zippo. Gone are the days when you hold up a lighter at shows if something moves you – now you have the virtual version. This is admittedly better than people just holding up their cell phones, which has always looked silly.
CoinFlip is another that goes into the “is that really necessary?” category, yet everyone seems to have it. It does exactly what its name indicates – it flips a coin.
A pretty amusing app is the Abacus, which seemingly goes against everything the iPhone really is – cutting edge technology. But again, maybe for the drunk folks trying to figure out how much money they have at the end of the night, this might work.
Too tired to yell enthusiastically for your sports team of choice? Then the “Wooo!” app may be for you. It’s a button that shows up on your touchscreen, and every time you hit it, a tinny voice says “wooo!” Very exciting.
Lastly, there is the I Can Has Cheezburger app, which sends you an update every time there’s a new location posted. Who doesn’t need that?
There’s something compelling about some of these iPod touch apps, even though they do absolutely nothing useful, and in fact, just mostly take up space on your iPhone or iPod touch. However trivial some of these applications may seem, they offer enjoyment to the hundreds of thousands of users who download them. After all, isn’t that the point of these applications?

I’m looking for either a plain chrome Zippo lighter or a Zippo lighter from the Vietnam War. if someone could tell me wer i could get one cheap (NOT Ebay or Amazon) or if someone would be willing to sell one cheap i would be very grateful.
army surplus stores might have some lighters from the Vietnam war. tobacco shops (found often in malls) will definitely have the regular plain chrome zippo lighters.
Yea. I Have a zippo. on the bottem it sLays (from left to right) L Zippo 04, and underneath it says Bradford, Made in USA. It’s gold plated (or at least gold coloured and very shiney. I went and bought Zippo butane fuel, but I’m not sure if thats the kind i should be using. Also, on the lighter fuel, its a spray thingy. but there is no spray button. Its like when you take the little butotn off of a can of hairspray. Please help!
you need zippo lighter fluid NOT butane. Lighter fluid squirts in under the cottony insulation in the bottom.
