cigar consumption

The cigarette was named some time in the 18th century: beggars in Seville began to pick from the ground the cigar ends left by
the señoritos(“rich, young men”), wrapped the tobacco remains with paper and smoked them.
A cigarette (French for”small cigar”) is a product consumed through smoking and manufactured out of cured and finely cut tobacco
leaves and reconstituted tobacco, often combined with other additives, then rolled or stuffed into a paper-wrapped cylinder
(generally less than 120 mm in length and 10 mm in diameter).

Rates of cigarette smoking vary widely. While rates of smoking have leveled off or declined in developed countries, their use
continues to rise in undeveloped countries.

While the assembly of cigarettes is straightforward, much focus is given to the creation of each of the components,
in particular the tobacco blend, which may contain over 100 ingredients,[9] many of them flavourants for the tobacco.
A key ingredient that makes cigarettes more addictive is the inclusion of reconstituted tobacco, which has additives to make
nicotine more volatile as the cigarette burns. The process of blending gives the end product a consistent taste from batches
of tobacco grown in different areas of a country that may change in flavour profile from year to year due to different
environmental conditions.

Each cigarette’s tobacco blend is made mainly from the leaves of flue-cured brightleaf, burley tobacco, and oriental tobacco.
The processing of brightleaf and burley tobaccos for tobacco leaf “strips” produces several by-products such as leaf stems,
tobacco dust, and tobacco leaf pieces. The most common tobacco by-products include:

Improved stems (IS)  Improved stems are rolled, flattened, and shredded then  steamed

Expanded (ES)  are rolled, flattened, and shredded leaf stems that are expanded by being soaked in water and rapidly heated.

Reconstituted leaf (RL)  a paper-like material made from recycled tobacco fines, tobacco stems and “class tobacco”, which
consists of tobacco particles less than 30 mesh in size. These are collected at any stage of tobacco processing. RL is made by
extracting the soluble chemicals in the tobacco by-products, processing the leftover tobacco fibres from the extraction into
a paper, and then reapplying the extracted materials in concentrated form onto the paper. Then ammonium additives are applied

Blended leaf (BL)  a thin, dry sheet cast from a paste made with tobacco dust collected from tobacco stemming, finely milled
burley-leaf stem, and pectin.

Expanded tobacco- The tobacco is “puffed”, or expanded, by saturating it with supercritical carbon dioxide. This is used to
produce light cigarettes

It has been shown that higher prices for cigarettes discourage smoking. Every 10 percent increase in the price of cigarettes
reduced youth smoking by about seven percent and overall cigarette consumption by about four percent.

Approximately 5.5 trillion cigarettes are produced globally each year and are smoked by over 1.1 billion people or greater
than one-sixth of the world population

Cigarettes are the most frequent source of fires in private homes.

Mortality associated with smoking chiefly involves vascular, neoplastic, and respiratory diseases that can be caused by smoking.

Men born in 1900-1930 who smoked only cigarettes and continued smoking died on average about 10 years younger than lifelong
non-smokers. Smoke, or any partially burnt organic matter, is carcinogenic (cancer-causing). The damage a continuing smoker
does to their lungs can take up to 20 years before its physical manifestation in lung cancer.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) caused by smoking, known as tobacco disease, is a permanent, incurable reduction
of pulmonary capacity characterized by shortness of breath, wheezing, persistent cough with sputum, and damage to the lungs,
including emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

50% of people who smoke long-term will die from a smoking-related condition.

Lung cancer claims more lives than any other cancer and smoking causes 80% to 90% of those deaths.

Smoking is the number one preventable cause of death in the world.

Smoking cessation will almost always lead to a longer and healthier life. Stopping in early adulthood can add up to 10
years of healthy life and stopping in one’s sixties can still add three years of healthy life

The immediate effects of smoking cessation include:

Within 20 minutes blood pressure returns to its normal level
After 8 hours oxygen levels return to normal
After 24 hours carbon monoxide levels in the lungs return to those of a non-smoker and the mucus begins to clear
After 48 hours nicotine leaves the body and tastebuds are improved
After 72 hours breathing becomes easier
After 2-12 weeks, circulation improves
After 5 years, the risk of heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker
After 10 years, the chance of lung cancer is almost the same as a non-smoker.

Research in Western countries has found that approximately 3-5% of quit attempts succeed using willpower alone.

cigar socket

DESCRIPTION:

The radio installation in VAUXHALL AGILA. Some Cars have steering controls from new and when you replace your radio. This function and depending on what brand of Head Unit you buy, depends on what to look for to ensure it is compatible with your car.

INSATLLATION:

Kenwood head units must have a 4 pin mini din socket on a separate lead coming from the head unit to be compatible, or a dedicated blue wire specifically for steering remote.
When using the new PC99 X** range of car steering interface leads, you will also require PC99-KEN to interface with the head unit.
For the PC99 range of Steering control leads, offer the dedicated head unit adaptors such as PC99-KEN. These have to be installed in a set order to ensure the head unit recognizes the new leads are attached.
PLEASE FOLLOW THIS ROUTINE WHEN INSTALLING PC99 LEADS:

Link the Kenwood interface to the PC99-X## series lead.
Plug the main loom (not the din or blue wire) into both the vehicle and the head unit.
Power up the stereo by ignition and seek then store a Blue wire on the PC99-KEN to the brown wire marked for steering remote from the head unit.
Switch the stereo on by ignition and wait up to 20 minute radio station (this wakes the unit up)
Switch the stereo off by ignition.
Plug in the 4 Pin Din plug if fitted to the Din socket, or the for audio to come through before testing the remote controls.
If in any doubt that this has not been done in the correct order, the loom must be disconnected from the vehicle, the jack disconnected from the stereo and the process started again.
The higher technology employed in these units, they operate more like computers then audio systems.
 so the addition equipment such as CD Changers, Auxiliary inputs and Steering remote control devices, need to be ‘found’ by the system after it has been awoken as just a stereo.
with vehicles that have the new Fakra or Quad lock connection that features a small lever to
make the connection, there is no ignition switched 12v supply.
This is usually required for aftermarket head units, and they won’t power up without this being
Connected.
To resolve the issue, you will need to be technically competent to a small level. You will need to connect the red wire to an ignition switched 12v supply from the fuse box of the vehicle.
One such supply would be that which feeds the cigar lighter for example. You may require an electrical test meter to determine the relevant contact.
Once the red wire has been connected securely and professionally to a +12v ignition switched supply, the rest of the installation is straight forward.
The orange wire also remote on these harness adaptors is only for illumination, and can be connected to a +12v supply on lighting circuit such that radio illumination works when vehicle lighting is switched on, or dims if radio is switched on.

A word about the radio installation kit you are about to install. There are many manufacturers of radio installation kits for this vehicle. Each manufacturer produces slightly different variations of the same kit, and a few make individual kits for specific vehicles. The pictured installation kit shown in the illustrations below is a standard kit used for many. Radio installation kits change with the model and years of production of the vehicle. When selecting a kit for this vehicle, make sure the kit you purchase states on the package the installation kit will work with your vehicle model and year. Some kits may require additional setup. Certain kits may be multi function kits designed to work with multiple vehicles and may require the installer to remove break away screw mounting tabs attached to the kit that are not required for your particular vehicle.

cigars to buy online

Why have you started smoking cigar? This question was asked so many times and the interesting one answer is, ‘Buddy! It was like an essential thing to do whenever I was amid my business fraternity or colleagues’. Certainly, cigar especially premium cigars like Punch Cigars, CAO Cigars, Macanudo Cigars, Montecristo Cigars and so on have become a symbol of social status. Hence, we take special care of all those stuffs whichever are concerning with cigars.

Let’s begin with selection of cigar and in this context we must know that tobaccos used in cigar vary accordingly soil condition wherever they have yielded. Thus, different cigars require different sorts of care. Cuban cigars manufacture in Caribbean islands and their climate is tropical. So, cigars are required to be kept in a warm climate with a relatively high humidity. Similarly, there are a many different cigar stocking measures:
? Few cigars are available in aluminum tubes and this metal preserves them even in dry climates.
? It is suggested that you must store your cigars in the tightly fitted cupboard, drawer or box, perfectly aloof from radiators and other sources of heat.
? Avoid the storing of cigar in direct sunlight and prevent its exposure from sea breezes.
? In UK region, it proves tough to maintain 16-200C temperature and relative humidity 65-70%. So, cigar lovers prefer humidor to preserve their cigars.
? Sometimes, humidity in make-shift humidor remains low then we can use a damp sponge in a cup because it serves as a basic provider of humidity.
? Leave the base of cigar containers unvarnished and do not laminate inner portion. Just allow the cigars to breath.
All above mentioned measures are helpful but sometimes we feel that all these are not enough to keep our cigars safe. Once cigar is dried then throw it away. However, re-humidified method proved effective but it needs expert’s hands.

padron 45 cigar

Cigar is a cylindrical roll of tobacco. It is used in smoking with a wrapper leaf. Always, most expansive leaves are used in cigars. In terms of characteristics, it is stronger in odor and smoke. It bears pleasant flavor and good burning properties. As per historical evidences, cigar was introduced by Maya Indians in 10th century. Christopher Columbus and other explorers have revealed this fact in their notes.
?    Gustave Bock was a Dutch immigrant. He owned a cigar factory in Cuba in the 1830s. It is believed that it was the first to place a paper band around his cigars. It was just a paper ring with his signature.
?    Very soon, it prominently flourished and became very profitable business. However, now cigar rolling has become mechanized but still few prestigious companies adhere with traditional stuffs. They do mention phrase on the boxes such as ‘totalmente a mano (totally by hand) or hecho a mano (made by hand)’.

A glimpse upon manufacturing of premium Cigars
?    At first tobacco leaves pass through curing process and it takes approximately 25 to 45 days which depends upon climatic condition and construction of sheds or barns used to store harvested tobacco as well.
?    After curing, second process is fermentation. Under this process, major characteristics like flavor, burning, and aroma are primarily brought out in the leaf.
?    Once after properly being aged, leaves are used as filler. Under this process, these are continuously moistened and ensured proper utilization each leaf as per the quality.
?    Few premium brands cigars (viz. Acid Cigars, Padron Cigars, Ashton Cigars, Dominican Cigars) use special varieties of tobacco. For instance, long leaves are thoroughly used in long filler cigars which are supposed as higher quality of cigar.
?    For long term storage of cigar, lower storage temperature viz. 40C/400F is recommended. There are special storage boxes available in the market like wooden box or humidor. Such containers carefully control ideal conditions for longer period.

Packaging of cigars
?    The outermost portion or wrapper comes from the widest part of the plant and its color in itself speaks a lot about character and flavor of cigar. There is also a myth prevailing in the cigar market that the darker the wrapper, the fuller the flavor. One must keep in the mind that darkness refers to sweetness on the other hand light one means dryness to the taste.
?    Fillers are available in two forms either short or long. Recently an addition has been made of medium filler cigars. There is a special category of filler known as ‘sandwich or Cuban sandwich’. It is made by rolling short leaf inside long outer leaf.
?    Cigars are prominently categorized on the basis of shape and size and all together known as ‘vitola’. Few names under this category are Parejo, Figurado and little cigars.

After the development of printing industry, cigar got more vibrant looks and cigar companies prominently focused on branding of their products. During World War I, there was fall down in its popularity. But, it was remained for the very short span.

Chief of police ‘covering up’?

I am an international merchant and I often do business with conglomerates overseas. Much of my cargo is transported by sea.

One of my top competitors (Clarence), I believe has been creating diversions at sea by bribing the captain of the ship to recruit incompetant seamen. I have lost millions of dollars in late shipments as a result of these inconviences

I have contacted the chief of police regarding my suspicions and he often assures me that he is ‘on the case’.

This has been ongoing for quite some time. He once told me, as he smoked his cigar, “Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win.” followed by a wink and a nudge.

I believe the Chief of Police is involved in Clarence’s scheme.

How shall i handle this and who should I contact?

The cigar ratings supplied by publications like Cigar Magazine and Cigar Aficionado form an important part of the modern cigar industry. For cigar smokers, these ratings provide guidance in a crowded market.

As pressed-for-time moviegoers may look to Roger Ebert for guidance at the multiplex, smokers use the magazines’ ratings to cut down on their in-store browsing time. For cigar makers, meanwhile, the ratings can be the touch of life – or the kiss of death. When Cigar Aficionado gave a high rating to a Fuente Spanish Lonsdale cigar, the magazine’s imprimatur helped to cause a run on the brand, rendering it scarce and highly sought-after and increasing the profile of Fuente’s cigars in general. Every cigar maker covets a 90-or-higher rating from these influential judges.

But where do these numbers actually come from? For staffers at Cigar Aficionado, the reviewing process starts at the store. While music and book reviewers are often given free “review copies” of CDs or books (a practice that makes things convenient for the reviewer, but also diminishes his or her independence), Cigar Aficionado tries to buy cigars at close to retail prices.

This leads to big cigar bills for the magazine – but it also means the cigars they review are as much like the ones you buy at the store as is possible. (Unlike CDs or books, of course, every cigar is slightly different in composition and taste.) Sometimes, if a cigar is hard to find in stores, the magazine will request “review cigars”; ditto for cases when the magazine is trying to preview a cigar before it hits stores.

The members of the panel – all of them longstanding magazine staffers – are told nothing about the identity, price range, source, or country of origin of the cigar. A “tasting coordinator” – not a member of the panel – removes the cigar’s band so that it cannot be identified by the panel’s members.

The blank, anonymous cigar is then assigned a number so that its identity can be retrieved after it’s rated. The members of the tasting panel then retire, separately, to their offices to smoke the cigars without consulting each other. Each member of the panel assigns the cigar a certain number of points, based on its performance in any of four categories.

First of all, cigars are rated by APPEARANCE and CONSTRUCTION. Is the cigar visually pleasing? Is the wrapper smooth, or wadded-looking? Is it moist to the touch or dry? Does it stay firm? Is it veiny or soggy? After all, a great-tasting cigar that wilts the minute you take it out of the box, or looks too unappetizing to be placed in someone’s mouth, does smokers no good. Cigars can win up to 15 points in this category for being well-made and attractive.

Secondly, of course, the cigar is rated on its FLAVOR – a category that carries with it 25 of the possible 100 points. Who needs a good-looking but brackish cigar? Cigars should not taste bitter or leave a nasty aftertaste. Both taste and aftertaste should be smooth but full, complicated, and rich.

A maximum of 25 points can be won for various qualities ranged together under the general heading of SMOKING CHARACTERISTICS. How does it burn? Is it hard to light? Does it burn one-sidedly? Will the smoke burn your mouth, or feel cool and comfortable as it should? How hard do you have to pull to get a mouthful? All these questions and more are considered.

Finally, the tasters each give a score (up to 35 points) for OVERALL IMPRESSION. (Flavor counts most here.) Is the cigar good, bad – or great? And the question utmost in any dedicated smoker’s mind – is it worth the money? The panel’s various scores in each category are averaged and a final score is the result.

Ratings, of course, are always subjective, depending on individuals’ taste – even if those individuals have well-developed, highly educated tastes. Your mileage may vary. For any smoker, the ultimate authority should always be your own tastebuds!

online cigarettes shopping

This is the web version of the commonly seen cigarette discount coupons. Earlier one has to clip them out from magazines and news papers, where they have been advertised, sort them out, before exchanging it in some cigarette shop for the discounts it brings along. This process has become a lot simpler with online cigarette discount coupons. Now, there is no need to carry those ‘paper’ coupons in the pocket/purse. Instead, the job boils down to entering a code while signing out of one’s favorite online retailer portal. The code is usually referred to as the ‘promotional code’ or ‘coupon code’ and the cigarette makers offering online cigarette discount coupons make those codes public so that customers could use it for availing discount while purchasing discount cigarettes from online stores.

Finding online discount cigarette coupons is quite easy, thanks to the efficiency with which search engines such as Google and Yahoo index and rank the web pages. Just type in the keyword – the discount coupon of the cigarette maker you want – and the search engine will list an array of websites that collect and organize discount coupons in a flash. However, it is important to use a website whose discount coupon listing is the latest and are thought to be updated daily or twice a day. There had been instances in which some customers, who had got discount coupons from certain websites, found out at the time of purchase that they were expired ones. In such cases, the online retailer cannot help the clients as they are only authorized to give discounts for valid discount coupons only. Hence, it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that the coupons are from a genuine site.

The discount cigarettes coupons are activated by entering the code in the appropriate text box in the retailer website at the time of checkout. Here, it should be kept in mind that the location of this box may vary from one retailer website to another. Further, the customer may be prompted to enter the promotional code at any time, right from the shopping cart page to the billing page, depending upon the software architecture of the particular portal. Hence, it is advisable that the customer may be in constant lookout for a text box saying promotional code, coupon code, promotional discount, discount code, or any other variations of the same meaning in any of the web pages that he/she browses through while shopping online. If one misses it due to some reason, and go on to confirm the order, remember, there can’t be a second chance to go back and enter the codes.

Also, consider these aspects while using redeeming discount cheap cigarette coupons online.

• Ensure that the discount is reflected in the total before confirming the order.

• After availing the discount, take a print out of the receipts for it would serve as a valuable record in case some issues arise later on.

• Seek the customer care assistance – available through telephone in most websites – if there is any confusion at any step of the process.
