harmful cigarette chemicals

Kid Gyms are going to be added at McDonald’s locations nationwide by 2008. That’s exciting news for those with one of the estimated 63% of children under the age of 18 in their family who is considered to be obese by the American Foods Standards Industry! There are changes being demanded in other areas too!

The success of tobacco companies to market their products to children has caused concerned for many. From the candy cigarettes that many of us bought at the corner dime store when we were kids to the cool Joe that Camel uses, the marketing industry is demanding changes be made. Why? Because the fact that cigarette smoking (and consuming tobacco products in other forms as well) is harmful to your health.

It is well documented that heart disease, lung cancers and other fatal related conditions can be directly connected to tobacco smoking. Millions die each year from tobacco smoking related illnesses and still many sound as if they’ll die any day! The enamel of the teeth are broken down by the over 400 chemicals contained in tobacco. The cells in the body are literally blocked from “breathing” in what they need when tobacco smoke is present in the body. The tobacco smoke is usually replacing food as a source of energy which depletes the body’s storages and causes weakness and lack of energy. The lining of the lungs is slowly “smoked” away and there is no longer any protection provided against what the smoke does to the lungs. There are so many reasons that smoking is harmful, and not only to the smoker, but to others who happen to be around the smoker while he/she is smoking!

Second hand smoke has been blamed for the deaths of people who have never had a cigarette in their lives! The same effects listed above that affect the smoker, also affect the non-smokers, only in a more serious way. When a cigarette is smoked, the 400 chemicals contained in the tobacco are in essence “filtered” through the body. However, when someone who is not smoking a cigarette is breathing in second hand cigarette smoke, the smoke going into their lungs is not being filtered, it’s just being breathed in. The non-smoker doesn’t “breathe” back out the smoke filled air – but the smoker does. This causes the second hand smoker to be a victim who runs the same risks as the smoker of developing lung cancers, heart diseases and other fatal diseases. Kinda gives new light to letting your kids hang around the bowling alley-huh?

There are so many efforts at paying attention to the spoiled, irresponsible lifestyles Americans have become accustomed to, why not stop smoking. It’s said that the effects of smoking begin to stop as soon as the smoker stops smoking. Energy is returned, food tastes better (which is why most gain weight when they quit smoking) and the lungs begin to clear, giving back one’s ability to breathe deeply! Like the commercial says, would you like a bikini or bronchitis?

kennedy cigars

The blend in the center of the cigar is truly the fingerprint of most brands. The right combination of seco, ligero and claro leaves makes the characteristic of the cigar fall anywhere between mild to full-bodied. Incorporating leaves from other regions is another common characteristic of a premium tobacco blend. Nicaraguan tobacco which is known sometimes as being harsh, can be used in a premium cigar filler of what would be considered a medium bodied cigar. This occurs when the master blender in the factory chooses the right combination of leaves to form the desired taste, much like a bartender mixes drinks. A typical Long Island iced tea consists of five liquors, sometimes a bartender will make one liquor the dominant in the drink and so to the cigar roller.

The wrapper leaves interestingly are imported from the United States as Connecticut shade is the premier wrapper leaf and most requested by the premium factories. The gold color and smooth texture all combined with a very even burn makes Connecticut shade broad leaf the premium wrapper leaf and best suited to be covering only premium long filler. These leaves are carefully folded and not pressed together which is another art form not easily learned. The leaves must be placed on top of each other so that the air passes through properly leading to an easy draw for the smoker (No one does it better than cigar rollers from cfdomicana. You can find them here http://www.cigarrollers.net) , Although the leaves are put in a mold and pressed for an average of two hours, the art of the folding remains intact. The folding, depressing and the shape of the cigar are all called construction. The construction of premium high-end cigars is visually evident as they are smooth uniform and require very little effort if any to draw the flavor from the burning tobacco. Poor construction leads to an uneven burn and is often found in the discarded cigars also called seconds.

The Cuban cigars are known for their perfect constructions, However the Cuban cigars have always had the mystique due to the fact that they have been illegal in United States for many years. With Castro in power Kennedy made certain that no trade between the United States and the communist country would exist. The embargo has essentially put Cuba in a time capsule with the only evidence of US products found our relics from the 50s like the Chevrolet Bel Air which is common in the streets of Cuba. Castro also did not do much justice to the tobacco fields and us the product has suffered. Driven mostly by the mystique, most novices will seek out Cuban cigars with very little reason as to why. Pre-embargo Cubans as a result are considered precious as they are the true Cuban cigars that most are really seeking. The full-bodied flavor of the Cuban cigar is what makes it so attractive to cigar purists. The flavor is so full-bodied in fact, that Cuban cigars are not recommended for someone just testing the waters. Finding such a pronounced flavor is what is become almost a mission for some however, looking only to Dominican tobacco perhaps wrapped with Maduro leaf will give a comparable if not exceed the cigar aficionado’s expectations.

depression cigarettes
when will depression from quitting cigarettes go away for the average person?

when will depression caused by withdrawals from quitting cigarettes go away for the average person? i’m going cold turkey, but if it’s better to ween off to save myself from this depression i will go for it, unless the depression from cold turkey will go away soon, all depends

anyone have an opinion? thanks

its not the ciggarettes that are causing the depression, it wont just fade like you hope, you’ll have to make a few lifestyle changes
keep a stress journal, note down what caused it and how you dealt with it, this should help you avoid things that cause your anger and find the best ways that work for you
i know its hard sometimes
but just get out the house and go on a walk somewhere, it’s surprisingly uplifting! also try yoga, there’s lots of programs and they’ll be all over the internet,
drink allot more water and only go to bed when your tired, don’t drink caffeine, no t.v. before bed, no food right before bed, and avoid fizzy drinks.
you have to do something that’ll wear you out everyday so you’ll sleep better, which in turn, will make you feel better the next day and want to do mor excercise also check out

http://www.rogerdarlington.co.uk/Happy.html

my best method is to sit down with and ice-cold drink hugging a hot waterbottle in front of my t.v.
or lying on my back in the middle of my floor concentrating on correcting my breathing
hope i helped :)

light cigarettes less nicotine

E cigarettes are the newest and most revolutionary product in the market. They have the look and feel of a real cigarette & even emit artificial smoke, but crucially they don’t contain tobacco. Those who smoke an e cigarette inhale nicotine vapour that looks like smoke but doesn’t have the carcinogens found in traditional tobacco containing cigarettes. In this way, smoking an e cigarette will not harm the smoker or the people around him.

An Electronic cigarette has a nicotine cartridge with liquid nicotine. The moment the user inhales it, a battery powered atomiser converts the liquid nicotine into vapour. You get a nicotine hit in seconds which does not contain any of the harmful chemicals present in traditional cigarette smoke. The moment the user inhales the cigarette, a small LED light at the tip of the e cig glows and makes it look like a real cigarette.

The nicotine cartridges present in an electronic cigarette come in different strengths like high strength, medium strength and low strength. People who want to reduce their dependency on regular cigarettes can shift from the high strength to low strength cigarette slowly, controlling their nicotine intake at all times. Once they get used to an e cigarette, reduction in nicotine strength will also help them reduce their dependency. Electronic cigarettes come as a full electronic cigarette kit, which contains all you need to introduce you to the world of tar and tobacco free smoking.

One of the biggest advantages that electronic cigarettes have is that the nicotine hits the users very quickly. As an alternative to traditional smoking this nicotine delivery needs to be paramount in order to reduce the dependency, and on this front the e cigarette delivers. This coupled with the act of inhaling the vapour or “smoke” from a cylindrical object emulates not only the feel but also the physical sensations of smoking.

If we talk about cost effectiveness, electronic cigarettes are cheaper than the traditional cigarette. You can buy a set of 100 nicotine cartridges for just £36.99 that will be equivalent to circa 800-1000 traditional cigarettes. The initial investment that you will have to incur in buying an electronic cigarette kit will be around £29.99, but it will prove to be a huge money saver in the long run.

Electronic cigarettes are becoming more popular as they can also be used to smoke in public places where smoking is banned. As they contain no tobacco they also do not pose any harmful passive smoking effects on those around you. With the e cigarette you truly have the freedom to smoke when and where you want.

nicotine cigarettes
Would cigarettes still taste the same if nicotine was taken out of them?

Nicotine is the reason why people are so addicted to cigarettes.

So why can’t they just take the nicotine out of cigarettes?

People can still smoke if they want to, it will just be a psychological addiction in which, if the person has enough perseverance, they can stop any time they want.

I know companies put nicotine in cigarettes so you’ll get addicted and buy more, but why? I think it’s all stupid.

Well, the thing is it’s not the nicotine, per se, which is the offending agent when it comes to cigarette smoking. You’re absolutely correct that nicotine in conjunction with ammonia chemistry results in addiction (the ammonia simply hastens the absorption of the nicotine).

Even if we were to take out the nicotine via chemical means, the tobacco has so many carcinogens that even without the nicotine, the cigarettes would not be any safer to smoke. The patient would still have craving for nicotine which would require gradual withdrawal with a nicotine patch or other drug delivery vehicle.

The bottom line is that continuing to smoke the cigarettes wouldn’t help the patient with their psychological dependence to smoking, so it wouldn’t be a great method for smoking cessation.

packing cigarettes
How long do you have from opening a pack of cigarettes before they go stale?

If I don’t do anything like freezing them between uses, how long will a pack of cigarettes stay fresh for before they go stale and will make you sick to smoke them?

I think about a week. I would keep them in the fridge so they won’t dry out.

choice cigarettes
Are budgets and taxes the democratic party weapons of choice if they can’t get their way constitutionally?

They have threatened to use a budget reconciliation to pass health care. They also regularly threaten to withhold highway funds if states don’t do what they want. Keep in mind the people in that state are still paying federal taxes.

They want to make it mandatory that you buy health insurance. They can’t really do that though so they must make it a tax issue and have an IRS fine if you don’t cooperate.

They raise taxes on things they don’t like such as cigarettes and soon probably pop.

I personally think it isn’t constitutional to tax to control with budgeting areas the Federal government has no Constitutional right to control directly.

This is why I should be appointed to the Supreme Court when you make President…..

popular cigarette brands
Why are Camel cigarettes so popular?

maybe not the cigarette brand, cause ive never saw anyone smoking them, and i see alot of smokers..

but they have lines of stuff out, like alot of zippo lighters (no other company has one, and they have alot)

there just a highly thought of sompany.. just wondering if anyone knew why. thanks

You can buy stuff from Camel with the C-notes you get from the pack.
I haven’t smoked for awhile so I’m not even sure if they still do that or not.
They are also a good brand to smoke. They aren’t as harsh as some other smokes are.

smoke stick cigarette

When looking to quit smoking for good, there is one important factor which is often overlooked and the reason why so many people fail to quit smoking year after year. This is so critical, that quitting smoking is literally impossible unless you nail this one factor down. The most frequently overlooked aspect in quitting smoking is getting your mental game straight.

If you seriously want to quit smoking for good, you need to come to the battlegrounds with the right mindset, a mindset for success, if you do not, you will subconsciously self-sabotage your efforts. Without further ado, here are the 3 quit smoking tips:

Quit Smoking For Good Key No.1 – You Must Believe it is Possible for You.

Often times people engage in negative self talk and have negative chatter going on in their heads along the lines of “It’s too hard to quitâ€, “I don’t have the willpower!â€, “I’ve tried ‘X’ times and it just doesn’t work for me†etc, etc. The truth is the more you tell yourself lines such as this, the more you will program your mind into believing it will fail. Your mind is a computer and it WILL be programmed. Catch ALL your negative programming as it happens and shut it off. Replace it with positive thoughts such as “Quitting smoking is easier and easier with each new day!â€, “I feel healthier and stronger each dayâ€, “My mental strength increases with each passing day, it becomes easier and easier for me to live a smoke-free lifeâ€. Take an inventory of your self-talk on a DAILY basis, become critically aware of it, it is THAT important.

Quit Smoking For Good Key No.2 – Visualize Success.

It is equally important to not only believe quitting smoking for good is possible, but for you to see it in your minds eye as having actually HAPPENED. Take a moment to close your eyes, and visualize yourself in the present moment, living a smoke free lifestyle. Notice how much healthier you appear, your eyes are clear and bright, you walk with a bounce in your step, you’re enjoying life, able to breathe the surrounding air freely and fully into your lungs, notice the subtle aromas in the surrounding environment you otherwise wouldn’t. See how much more positive and happy you are in your interactions with others, notice how others perceive you differently, in a more positive light as they notice your sense of pride and accomplishment emanating from within you.

Take the time to really see in your minds eye, you, living a smoke free life. Allow yourself to feel all the associated positive emotions, keep your eyes closed and perform this long enough to the point that you’ve forgotten you’re visualizing it and you’re done for the day! Now repeat this DAILY! It will feed into your subconscious and in a weeks time you will feel MUCH more positive about your ability to quit smoking.

Quit Smoking For Good Key No.3 – Persevere and be Relentless

It is vitally important that at each and every instance of a setback to your progress towards a smoke free life, that you do not allow it to throw you completely off target. If you have a lapse and veer off your course, smoking a cigarette you didn’t plan for, do not dwell on it, and more importantly do not let it de-motivate you to the point of giving up completely! If you believe you have tried everything and you just can’t seem to stick to a plan, ask yourself this “What were the last 100 things I tried to quit smoking for good?â€. That’s right, 100, list them off. Can’t think of 100? Ok then, 50…20? Do you see what I’m getting at? It took Thomas Edison over 1000 tries to develop the light bulb, what would have happened if he stopped at his 999th try? Failure. Be relentless, it is possible, no matter WHO you are, regardless of whether you realize it now or not, I am telling you it is absolutely 100% within your ability to quit smoking for good right now! Believe it and never give up no many how many times you fall down, get right back up at it. Develop it and take pride in this winning mentality!

What I have just shared with you is so critical you must not just read over this and say to yourself “Ya, ya, I know all about thatâ€. It is one thing to know about it, it is another thing to register it on an emotional level and really FEEL it inside of you. To not only know it intellectually, but to live it emotionally. These steps are not for you to know, they are for you to take in, breathe in, to feel, and most importantly, implement in your life. Once you have the mental game down and develop a deep and true understanding for each of these points, you are well on your way to a new, healthier you.

cigar cigarette girls

iPod in hand as I flick through the tracks I stop, the music begins to fill me head as I remember that same feeling as I did maybe 20 years ago.

London in the eighties there is nothing quite like going to London to see a musical, the excitement of that childhood trip I remember well. Early mornings here in Liverpool and the anticipation of the Pullman train journey down to Euston station in London when my father had to go on business.

My mother, sister and I were promised a trip shopping in London coupled with a musical. A sense of anticipation grew as the day went on, arriving at the Cumberland hotel while mother adorned in here fur coat discussed what seats were available for which shows. I guess it was about 1982 and a host of Andrew Lloyd Webber productions were being staged in the West End, Starlight Express, Sunset Boulevard, The Phantom of the Opera coupled with the rock musical Time or Mutiny on the Bounty. How times have changed.

Then little girls wore long dresses and ladies in cocktail dresses whilst the men wore black tie and evening jackets a really sense of occasion and like all young children my sister and I simply loved getting dresses up.

Finally the moment arrived seated in the centre circle waiting for the curtain to raise my sister on my left with mum and dad seated to my right , opera glasses in hand star struck waiting for the orchestra to play that first note. It mattered not which musical or even which theatre just those stage lights and that compelling tune that fills the theatre. On this occasion it happened to Sunset Boulevard and the curtained began to raise.

I knew from the very first time I watched my first musical that I would be a life long theatre goer and would dream of one day performing upon that stage. The music filled my head and my heart and the show began. There is no experience quiet like it and the glamour of the eighties theatre nights were there for everyone too see.

Before you knew where we were it was the interval, as the ladies and gentlemen flowed into the bar there was a silver tray with the name Warwick upon it our order already for us at the bar in the theatre, refreshments for all . Cigarettes and cigars lit the room filled with chatter of the performances while the air filled with the smell of cigars.

Five minutes ten minutes who knows soon we were seated back in our velvet seats again waiting for the final encounter. I will never forget the performance of an aged Hollywood star trying to deal with the end of the silent era a wonderful story moving and yet enlightening. The music seemed timeless and the experience will forever stick in my memory, ever show as memorable as the last ever performance unique.

Finally the audience raised the roof with applause standing clapping endlessness as the performers re-entered the stage to take there curtain call louder and louder the theatre rang with applause. Peering over the centre circle to take one last look at the stage I can remember that feeling a slight tear in my eye produced by happiness and a slight yawn as it was way past my bedtime. A family experience that once taken you would never forget.

As I lay in my bed that night I can remember seeing the lights and hearing the music melodically soothing me to sleep.
