is it ok to live life in the fast lane?

how do you live ur life?It sounds corny but mine is fast I know I can’t turn time back and have a second chance. Do you just know what to do with ur life.Slowly enjoyed like a fine cigar, and carefully crafted like a work of art? Or like a candle burnt at both ends? Living life fast leads you to feel older than u r ? it sometimes does doesnt it. Whats your opinion?

I think you have to play the cards your dealt, so if your happy whooshing about then do it. Personally i’m a bit of a slouch with the occasional decadent flurry.

The number of cigar smokers has been increased incredibly; this is because cigars are less injurious to health compared to cigarettes. A simple search through the internet makes you able to know how cigars are made and which tobacco leaves are used in it. There are various companies which provide qualitative cigars which are not more injurious for health. In these cigars there are some quantities of tobacco available. A cigar, usually, comprises of three kinds of tobacco leaves such as the outer wrapper leaf, the binder leaf and the filler leaf which are available in long, short or mixed sizes. In fact, cigar is a tightly rolled bundle of dried and fermented tobacco. Cigar tobacco is grown in significant quantities in various parts of the globe such as Brazil, Cameroon, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Indonesia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Sumatra, Philippines, and the Eastern United States.

Composition of Cigar

In fact, cigars are composed of three types of tobacco leaves, such as wrappers, binders and fillers, whose variations determine smoking and flavor character.

Wrappers

Cigar’s outermost leaves, also known as wrapper that comes from the widest part of the plant. The wrapper determines the cigar’s character and flavor. It is a perception that dark wrappers add a feel of sweetness, while light ones add a hint of dryness to the taste. It is a commonly accepted fact that the wrapper contributes lonely about 40 percent of the flavor, while the filler and binder accomplish the other 60 percent.

Fillers

Most of the cigars are made up of fillers; wrapped-up bunches of leaves within the wrapper. They are wrapped to offer desired cigar flavors. Most of the cigar manufacturers are feeling satisfied as they construct the perfect flavor that will give the smoker the most pleasure of cigar smoking.

Binders

And the last cigar’s tobacco is binders, which are elastic leaves used to hold together the bunches of fillers. Basically, binders are wrappers that are rejected because of holes, blemishes, discolorations or excess veins.

If you want to know about cigar tobacco, then you need to make an extensive search through the internet to come across various websites that deal in cigar tobacco. Like other tobacco products, cigar smoking also possesses significant risk on health depending upon the dosages. Cigar tobacco is less injurious to health compared to other tobacco products.

a cigar a day

Most everyone has heard about the health risks of smoking both cigars and cigarettes, and the dangers of secondhand smoke.  But which is worse?  Do cigar smokers really have the advantage over cigarettes smokers?  The answer is much more complicated than anyone ever thought.

A Matter of Degree

Research from the National Cancer Institute indicates that the health risks posed by both cigarettes and cigars are strongly linked to frequency of use.  That is, it’s not whether you smoke cigarettes or cigars, but how much and how often you consume them.  Individuals who smoke cigarettes on a daily basis are at a greater risk of developing cancer than people who smoke the occasional cigar.  That said, evidence indicates that cigars contain many more carcinogens than cigarettes.  It also appears that cigar smoke is more toxic than cigarette secondhand smoke.  Much of this is due to the fact that cigars are bigger than cigarettes, and thus produce more smoke.

To Inhale or Not?

Debate has also concentrated on the issue of inhaling nicotine from cigars and cigarettes.  Dedicated cigar enthusiasts argue that cigars are less dangerous than cigarettes because they don’t require you to inhale as much toxins.  The National Cancer Institute’s research indicates that both cigar and cigarette smokers are exposed to carcinogens, regardless of whether they inhale or not.  Even without inhaling, smokers are still exposing their mouths, tongues, larynxes, and throats to carcinogens.  In fact, simply holding an unlit cigar or cigarette between your lips can expose you to carcinogens.  Furthermore, when saliva comes in contact with a cigar or cigarette, even momentarily, carcinogens are swallowed.  When carcinogens are swallowed, the throat, larynx, and esophagus further become exposed to these toxins and irritants.  Cigarette and cigar smokers appear to swallow similar amounts of carcinogens, resulting in approximately the same percentage of risk in developing oral and esophageal cancers.

Research indicates that the health risks associated with both cigars and cigarettes may be reduced if the degree inhalation is adjusted.  Because most cigarette smokers tend to inhale deeply and smoke on a regular basis, they are at higher risk of developing cancer of the larynx. To get an idea of how inhalation of smoke relates to health risks, the National Cancer Institute tells us that the lung cancer risk of someone who smokes five cigars a day and inhales moderately has about the same risk as someone who someone who smokes one pack of cigarettes a day.

When you buy a pipe, choose the finish you like. Do you like the feel of the smooth waxed straight grain or the pebble-like rusticated? As I have said, pick the pipe YOU like, the pipe that feels right and it will be with you for a long time. If you consider how long a pipe lasts, even if you do spend a great deal (that is subjective), when you divide it by many years of enjoyment it really is a bargain. Make sure the pipe you buy is a comfortable and convenient size. If too large, it can be heavy in the mouth and uncomfortable. Also where and when do you smoke? If you smoke a short time, then a small to medium pipe is best. If you relax, read or talk with friends, then a larger pipe is fine. As I say, a beautiful pipe is a work of art, not unlike a sculpture. Pick your pipe to suit your lifestyle.

Let us now talk about the finish on the pipe. There are several types of finishes: high gloss smooth, glossy smooth, matte smooth (some call this natural), sandblast, rusticated and several combinations of the above. With the very high gloss, be sure you are getting a top quality pipe and not one with varnish or lacquer; it seals the wood and it cannot breath. The very top-of-the-line pipes are the straight grains. And the very best of these is with a very tight even grain all the way around. This usually shows bird’s-eye on the bottom or top, unless it is a plateau finish (natural rough outside the burl). Bird’s eye comes from the grain getting sideways and can be very beautiful. Rough finish includes sandblast and rusticating. Sandblasting is just what the name implies; a high pressure burst of sand directed at the pipe, which removes some of the wood, producing an uneven rough texture. In a sandblasted pipe you can very often see the grain. Sometimes a top-of-the-line pipe will be a sandblasted straight grain and be absolutely beautiful.

Rusticating is done by hand and is really an art that is very time consuming. Rusticating can be much deeper than blasting and also is usually more even or consistent. After blasting or rusticating, the pipe is stained and polished to give it that “final look”.

About the burl: The soil is very rough and sandy and many times a grain of sand or tiny pebble will be next to the burl. As it grows, it will grow around it. When the block is sawed there may be a defect.

With inexpensive pipes these flaws may be filled with putty or etched (carved to hide them.) Unless the spot is large, it affects only the appearance, not the smoking of the pipe. I do not agree with the idea that blasting or rusticating is used only for flaws. If a pipe does not have a perfect straight grain, it may look beautiful in a rough finish.

Medium-range pipes may have an etching covering a sand spot or may be partially blasted to cover a flaw. I have never found a problem with this. Low-end pipes may have flaws that have been filled. Unless these fills are very large or unsightly, they usually do not affect the smoking. If the fill has been done with care and stained to match the rest of the pipe, it can be very hard to

seconds cigars

Smoking a Cuban cigar does not feel like something that would require knowing a great deal but it is not that simple either. Sure, if you just want to light a cigar and smoke it up without caring about how to enjoy it best through certain old techniques, then you probably do not need to read this. But, if you are someone who would like to know something about how to smoke each cigar an experience in smoking, then read the following paragraphs.

Keep a clipper handy when planning to smoke a Cuban cigar as you will need it to cut off the ends of the cigar’s head before you put it in your mouth. Try to avoid using anything but a wooden matchstick to light your cigar, a lighter is fine for cigarettes, but not for cigars. Butane lighter is somewhat different though, it does not leave a foul smell behind to ruin the original flavor of the cigar. After you have lit your cedar matchstick, it is time to draw in through the cigar to light it, but be careful not to touch the flame though. Keep the Cuban cigar at an inch’s distance from the flame of the matchstick and seep drawing in to soon see your cigar catch the fire. Rotate the cigar and take a few puffs from it now to even the burn through out.

Now that you have lit your Cuban cigar in a perfect way and enjoying your smoke, you need to know when to stop smoking it. Unlike most cigarettes, cigars do not have a filter; therefore you should be done smoking a cigar when there is roughly two inches of it left. The reason why you should not go beyond that is the fact that it may get bitterer in taste if you continue to smoke the cigar even after the two inch mark.

The ash of a cigar can tell a great deal about a Cuban cigar and know that you are smoking a really good cigar if the ash at the end of your cigar is not falling off or breaking away as you smoke on. Do not jerk the “ash-stick” off your cigar into your ash-tray as that is not necessary at all. When you are taking a few second’s break from the smoke, just let the cigar rest on the ash-tray and the ash will fall off at the right time quite by itself.

Smoking a Cuban cigar is a sign of comfort and contentment and therefore should be smoked in good company and in peace. A cigar is not to be smoked before you go to the office or if you are in a hurry, rather enjoy it after a good dinner and may be with a drink. Light a cigar when you are in company of fellow smokers to avoid causing non-smokers any problem and also remember that it is best not to take in your puffs too deeply as it may then reach your lungs and that can cause you some serious illness over time.

Those who know their cigars well also, by that same token, know Brazil-albeit as a source of great tobacco rather than as a top cigar-producing nation. Brazilian tobacco, mainly produced in the country’s temperate northeastern and southern regions, turns up in such world-class cigars as Carlos Torano’s Toro, but the country’s cigar producers themselves haven’t always gotten the same respect. But that may be about to change. After all, Brazilian cigars-including the Angelina, Dannemann and Dannemann, Le Cigar, Don Pepe, Dom Porfirio, and Dona Flor (named for Jorge Amado’s classic novel Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands)-have already convinced many US cigar aficionados that this country’s cigars are as good as its tobacco.

But Brazil’s own rich history-and its sure-to-be-turbulent future-make it an important place for cigar smokers to understand. How has one of the world’s important tobacco-producing nations come to be the home of one of the strongest anti-smoking movements in the Western Hemisphere? And will these two opposing tendencies continue, uneasily, to coexist? Only a prophet could say-but perhaps a brief backgrounder on this Latin American nation can provide some helpful context.

The first thing to know about Brazil is that it’s big-in resources, landmass, and people. It’s the fifth-largest country in the world, and the fifth most populous. Among the world’s pro forma democracies, it ranks fourth in population size, and it controls a powerful economy, ranking ninth in the world in purchasing power. It’s a diverse country, too, with one hundred-eighty-eight living languages, and, interestingly enough, the world’s largest confirmed reserve of uncontacted peoples-small pre-industrial tribes that, for all practical purposes, have stayed sealed off from the rest of the world. In this single nation, then, an ultramodern economy exists side-by-side with some of the world’s last refuges of pre-industrial life, and gleaming cities (Sao Paulo and Brasilia) share the same boundary with huge swaths of rainforest.

What kind of culture does such a diverse country produce? Well-a similar situation produced artistic riches for the United States, and things are hardly any different for Brazil. Consider tropicalismo, one of the country’s major artistic exports. This musical movement, spearheaded by the legendary band Os Mutantes and the singer-songwriters Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, and manic genius Tom Ze among others, fuses all the diverse musics of this country (along with a hefty dose of Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground and jazz) to create some of the best-regarded music of the 1970s. Whatever political and logistical headaches it may pose, such bursting-at-the-seams diversity is good fortune for any artist lucky enough to benefit from it.

Like many Latin American countries (and like the US), Brazil was originally the colony of an ambitious European nation-in this case, Portugal. Led by its Portuguese-born regent, Pedro I, the country won its independence in 1822. What followed was a long power struggle between Pedro (eventually replaced by his son Pedro II), various rebelling factions of the population, and the country’s economically dominant classes, who found Pedro variously useful and irksome, depending on the situation. Following the deposition of Pedro II in 1889, the country became a republic; during the twentieth century, though, Brazil fell frequently to military coups, some of them (most infamously in 1964) made possible by covert US assistance. Its current relative freedom has lasted only since 1985.

Made up of twenty-six states and a federal district (think Washington, D.C.), the country’s exports include (among others) coffee, iron ore, ethanol, textiles, shoes, and cars. With a major modernizing initiative underway-in 2007, the country’s government, under President Luis Ignacio DaSilva, dedicated three hundred billion dollars to renovating power plants, roads and ports-Brazil clearly intends to keep those exports booming. Including tobacco? Well-that’s dicier. Brazil is incredibly rich in natural resources, but that rainforest shrinks every day. The resulting controversy raises issues for tobacco farmers: only a sustainable ecology will ensure that Brazil continues to yield those fine tobacco crops, and yet some sustainability measures may threaten farmers’ short-term profits (small farmers, many of them, and small profits). It’s a difficult balance.

More threatening, perhaps, for those of us who value Brazil’s contribution to cigar culture, is the strength of its anti-smoking movement. The country has some of the toughest anti-smoking laws in the world, funnels large amounts of money into anti-tobacco campaigns, and forbids tobacco-products advertising in any form. Still, the total number of smokers grew slightly during the past decade. Some business experts forecast that the country’s tobacco industry will have to get used to a shrinking overall population of smokers, and concentrate instead on increasing brand value, making better and safer products. Cigars, designed to be used in moderation and savored, may well flourish in this environment. At any rate, the reported use of genetically-modified tobacco crops in the country’s southern region suggests that tobacco-related controversies will continue in Brazil.

A person might take the initiative to lead a healthier life by reducing the amount of fat in their daily diet. While supplementing health initiatives with healthy diet plans a person is also taking an active part in ensuring better health by taking vitamins and supplements to improve their quality of life. People that take nutritional supplements will often feel more energetic and able to cope better with the stressors that are presented in day-to-day situations they encounter.

Some people feel that they are supplementing health initiatives established by a physician by avoiding stress at all costs. This is especially true for people that suffer from respiratory, circulatory, or coronary disorders because stress seems to make these disorders worse over time and physicians prefer to ward off these occurrences whenever possible. People can take an active part in protecting their health by avoiding things that make them unhealthy and this includes some hobbies that people enjoy doing such as riding roller coasters after they reach a certain age.

Supplementing health initiatives released by the Food and Drug Administration might require people to use nicotine replacements in the form of patches or gum until they are weaned from the chemical effects of smoking cigars and cigarettes. Some people might need to implement further health initiatives by undergoing treatment at a detoxification center to deal with the psychological and physical effects of nicotine withdrawal. The result of these smoking cessation programs will be a healthier body and mind because the person will no longer have to worry about where they can smoke or if they have enough money to purchase another pack.

Parents will begin supplementing health initiatives established by parents when they have children of their own to take care of. Parents will learn to dress their children warmly and prohibit them from any activities that they know will bring them harm and some of these preventative measures will be for events that were not around when the parents were young. Parents will take children in for immunizations on a regular schedule just as their parents did for them. By supplementing health initiatives learned from trial and error, parents can establish good health initiatives that their children can refer back on when they have children to care for.

Many people rely on product information placed on food labels in a store to be accurate but some numbers and percentages might not look right at first glance. Before families begin supplementing health initiatives that will improve product quality or packaging, many families will write to the manufacturer for a thorough explanation of the numbers posted on the outside of certain food brands.

Many times people will sacrifice nutritional benefits for convenience of use. People who are focused on the quality of nutrition that children need to grow up healthy and strong will send concerns to product manufacturers to get more nutritious facts listed on product labels and decorative labels that will entice children to eat more products which are healthier for them. By supplementing health initiatives established by dieticians after many hours of research with a little concern, parents are making considerable progress toward establishing health guidelines for lunches served at school and those quick fix meals enjoyed by children after school.
