For my birthday I want to have a movie themed party and I want to dress up as Audrey Hepburn and I want to use a cigarette holder as part of the costume but I don’t want to just carry it around. I heard of bubble gum cigarettes but how do you use them? When you smoke it is it only able to let out sugar smoke only once? Do you actually eat them whenever you want to? Is it safe? Help!!!!
Bubble gum cigarettes aren’t actual cigarettes. They can’t be lit as they are bubble gum. The same goes for candy cigarettes.
Halloween costumes are fast approaching, so most of the kids have been talking at huge length about the costume they desire this year for Halloween party. Following are the Halloween costumes ideas for frugal moms and dads. We hope you would like these ideas and these would as well be useful for you.
Ghost: Ghost costumes are normally inexpensive costume. You can just cut holes in an old sheet. Draw some of the chains, spider web etc on it with a permanent marker. This would give more thrills to your kids
Angel: Use a sheet like for the ghost, squirt it flippantly with some apparent spray paint and throw sparkle on it before the paint has a possibility to dry. Make a halo and the wings out of clothes pegs covered with aluminum foil.
Clown: Use incompatible oversized and too tiny clothes from every body closet to run away from the cost of a wig, make a hat from edifice paper or use an old one, beautify it ludicrously with flowers, pins, etc.
Tourist: You can use loud clothes; camera, cap, and maps sticking out of every pocket, just use your imagination.
Soldier or hunter: Living in the south, every body we know has disguise clothing, just piece as one whatever mixture you desire, apply some good paint to the face. You can borrow a canteen, scope and backpack from a friend.
Rock Star: Torn clothes, barb their hair using hair spray. Make jewelry with safety pins, clip on earrings, the dog’s collar paint their face with makeup… Only thing we bought was some spray on hair coloring.
Hippie: Any old clothes, sandals and dyed your own shirt by using some old fabric paint, which would not clutch out of the bottle good, cut the achieve and mixed it with water and dipped the shirt in then drew cipher on it with a enduring marker. Top off the outfit with a hankie or bandana, sunglasses and a pack of cigarettes (deck of cards) rolled up on to your sleeve.
These are just a few of the ideas, which could be used during our “Halloween Party”. Hope you enjoy them.
I want to be a 1950s cigarette girl. Its a playboy costume. I really want to wear red lipstick….too much?
heres the link http://www.amazon.com/Zoogster-Costumes-Playboy-Cigarette-Costume/dp/B001HWPSQ6/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1223965104&sr=8-14
i already found the costume, i just want to know if red lipstick would look okay with it
That’s so cute!
I think red would look good with it, especially if you’re also pale and have dark hair.
I need some creative ideas what to wear for a trailer trash party, both male and female costumes, decorations and food ideas will be helpful too. I’m aiming for the USA Jerry Springer style rather than the UK Jeremy Kyle look if possible!
The ideas i’ve come up with so far are;
Old white tank top/wifebeater
Mullet hair-do
Band t-shirt with sleeves cut off
Checkered shirt
Trucker hat
Dirty overalls
Short skirt
High heels
Big hair
Visible underwear
Fake/black teeth
Black eye
Huge hoop earrings
Cheap cans of beer
Cheap cigarettes

Any help is very much appreciated! Thanks
Fun! We did a “Shotgun Wedding” party a while back and we served Vienna sausages, cheese wiz on crackers, and Pabst Blue Ribbon. My sister was the bride and I was the maid of honor who was knocked up by the groom. We got tacky bridesmaid/prom dresses at the goodwill with huge butt bows. You look like you are good on ideas for clothes, but don’t forget the trashy makeup – lots of blue eyeshadow, dark lip liner with light lipstick, too much rouge. Oh and lots of animal prints for the girls.
Trashcan punch is always a hit. Fill up a clean garbage can with sprite, juice and everclear (or vodka.) Other ideas for food- Fritos and bean dip still in the can, Cherry Bombs (maraschino cherries soaked in vodka), jello shots, pimento cheese sandwiches, bologna sandwiches.

What is the proper name name of the kind of ‘cigarette holder’ that Cruella Deville holds?
There is a type of cigarette holder, or cigarette extender that women are often pictured with. My friends and I were trying to think of the proper name for such an antique. I certainly don’t see people using them when they smoke today. I can’t pinpoint the time period exactly but I think it was at least a few decades ago.
I can’t imagine exactly what they were used for but I assume it’s associated with some sort of fashion, or perhaps it is actually a type of long filter. Perhaps both? Cruella Deville is depicted smoking a cigarette using one of these things, as seen in the picture here.
A name or a brief history of it would be very satisfying!
they are called “slimline” cigarette holders

Help with a Gangsters and Molls fancy dress costume?
I’m throwing ‘The St Valentines Day Massacre’ a Gangsters and Molls party in February. We are turning the house into a ’speakeasy’ along with backroom gambling, dance floor, food, kareoke etc – but I’m struggling with our costumes. I don’t want to do something obvious and as hostess would like to dress as a ‘cigarette hostess’ the girls who sold cigarettes from a tray round the neck. I’d like my husband to wear one of those green visors the poker players sometimes wore – as a nod to running the gambling room! I can’t find suitable costumes anywhere – anyone got any ideas on sourcing these or any better ideas for unusual takes on the Gangsters and Molls theme??
Also, any amusing ideas for props/food etc would be most welcome
I’m a perfect party rep, we have a sister site for costumes, there are literally HUNDREDS, some are hot, some are normal, etc. http://www.clickcostumes.com/perfectpartygirl

Gatsby Girl costumes are based on the film “The Great Gatsby” that was based on the novel of the same title by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The story is set in the roaring 1920s after the First World War and when the United States was enjoying new levels of prosperity. The film and the novel focus on how bootleggers and other criminals were becoming millionaires. However, one of the most memorable parts of the movie and novel are the parties that were hosted by the millionaire Jay Gatsby. Therefore, the Gatsby Girl costumes are based on the flapper fashion during the 1920s.
The unique characteristics of the flapper fashion include a shapeless shift dress that was shorter in length compared to previous fashions, short sleek hair, make up that is usually applied in public, a flat chest, and smoking using a long cigarette holder. The exposure of the limbs represented a rebellious nature of a person who wanted to dance the nights away.
An important characteristic of the flapper fashion is that even the middle class women of society were able to conform with high fashion because of the simple construction of the flapper dress. However, the rich women were still able to emphasize their difference by wearing silk clothing that was heavily embellished.
One example of the Gatsby Girl costume is the Ladies 1920 Dress Costume that is composed of a feather headpiece and a flapper dress. Suitable accessories can be added including the characteristic long cigarette holder, flapper beads, wig, and stockings. Another Gatsby Girl costume is the Flapper Halloween Costume that is composed of a crepe satin dress that is trimmed with sequins and black and coral velour. It has a matching headpiece with flower accent and a sequined brim.
Another potential Gatsby Girl costume is the Sexy Black Flapper Adult Costume. It is made up of a black dress with a lace fringe and sequin trim. It also has a matching headband featuring a black feather. Possible accessories include a wig, long black gloves, black feather boa, and flapper beads.
Still another example of the Gatsby Girl costume is the Black Gatsby Girl Costume. It has fingerless gloves, a sequin flapper dress that is trimmed with sequins, and a matching headband. A possible accessory is the wig. Another example is known as the Gatsby Girl Deluxe Adult Costume. It has a black dress with a satin-feel with shimmering fringes and shining overlay. It comes with a matching pearl necklace and hat.
