Put This in Your Pipe and Smoke It – Top 5 Nicaraguan Cigars

Arnold Schwarzenegger. Tom Cruise. Mel Gibson. Harrison Ford. Sylvester Stallone.

What in the world do all of these high-octane megastars have in common? No, they’re not all starring in Mission: Testosterone, this summer’s most muscled blockbuster. But, they do share a unique bond. In fact, they share the same connection with such historically notable folks as Fidel Castro, W.C. Fields, and even King Edward VII.

How could kings, comedians, and revolutionary leaders have anything in common with the Terminator, Rambo, and Braveheart?

It’s simple: They all love a good cigar! No, actually, they all love a great cigar!

And, when it comes to great cigars, arguably there are none better today than those coming from rich soils and humid mountain hillsides of Nicaragua. Long having taken a backseat to the Cuban cigar-making dynasty, Nicaragua is making its mark on the international scene with the finest cigars found anywhere on the planet.

Just like its booming real estate market that has rebounded after natural disasters and political unrest to become one of the best places in the world to invest, the Nicaraguan cigar industry is benefiting and experiencing a renaissance as well. From the center of it cigar revolution in Esteli to Condega and all the way out to the Jalapa Valley, Nicaragua is home to the world’s best cigar makers, tobacco, and established and up-and-coming brands.

With so many great cigars to choose from, the problem for the cigar aficionado and the newbie alike becomes not “How can I find a good Nicaraguan cigar,†but where should I even start? To help you make your way through the jungle landscape of choice, let’s take a look at five all-time favorites.

5. Plasencia Organica Nesticos

Profile: small cigar, mild, but rich taste

Big things come in little packages! The world’s first 100% Certified Organic cigar, the Plasencia Organica Nesticos are pure handmade tobacco magic. These little cigars take advantage of Plansencia’s renowned three-year-aged, organically-grown Nicaraguan tobaccos and serve it up in a smoke-able size that allows you to enjoy big cigar flavor even when you don’t have a lot of time.

4. Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970, Robusto Grande.

Profile: strong, robust, earthy, woody, big, heavy-bodied…you get the idea, this cigar ain’t messing around!

This hefty all-Nicaraguan tobacco cigar was crafted to appeal to an American clientele who could no longer puff their favorite Havanas after the Cuban revolution. Let’s just call it like it is: The Robusto Grande is a big daddy of a cigar – both in size and flavor. There’s no getting around the fact that it packs a seriously rich blow with that characteristic Nicaraguan metallic twang. If you like your cigars to knock you out with a power-packed punch, this is your choice.

3. Felipe II Fat Boy

Profile: medium-bodied, earthy, spicy coffee bean aromas, roasted butter finish

Rated 90 by Cigar Aficionado, this ridiculously rich tasting cigar by Felipe Gregorio is definitely round and robust, but has a seamlessly smooth quality that makes it a definite contender. The Fat Boy’s small, but stocky size (3.5 x 55) gives it a definite “Don’t Mess with Me†attitude. When you’re feeling like a fine fatty at a reasonable rate, find yourself a Felipe II and get ready for a taste explosion.

2. Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series

Profile: medium to full-bodied, long finish, perfectly balanced.

If you want to feel like a celebrity, then you’ll want to take a pull on any cigar from the Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series. Made to celebrate their 30th anniversary, this line is crafted from only their best tobaccos and is often quite difficult to find. However, when you do get your hands on one, you’ll experience a masterful cigar from first spark to final ash tap. Despite the price, this is a must-have in your collection.

1. Perdomo Edición de Silvio

Profile: robust, delicate tones, perfection

This exquisite cigar is considered by many to be one of the best in the world bar none. With a secret blend of the finest tobaccos, this is the holy grail of cigars. And, although it is by far the most exclusive (read: expensive) cigar on my list, it’s not to be missed. So, when you start making huge profits with your Nicaraguan real estate investments, you can experience a little decadence with a Perdomo Edicion de Silvio.

As you can quickly see, the Nicaraguan cigar revolution is in full swing – a rich variety of flavors that is unmatched anywhere in the world. With its fascinating history, the Nicaraguan cigar story is one that can’t be missed. When you light up any of the above cigars, you’ll know that you’ve found a new favorite in Nicaragua.

Can you explain, just exactly what was in the sky that morning?

About 3 weeks ago I was working outside painting my house. It was about 9:45 in the am on a sunny, clear, cloudless morning.I was standing on a ladder, when I caught a glimpse of something in the sky.I turned around on the ladder so I was facing it.I had a perfect view since I was above everything. At first I thought it was an commercial jet, then looking closer I realized it had absolutely no airfoils of any type! No wings,no tail,no rudder. It was cigar shaped, about the size of a DC9.It must of been made of something metallic because the sun was being reflected off of it.It made no sound whatsoever, neither was there any sign of an engine or jet exhaust.Just then it disappeared behind my neighbor’s tall pine trees and since it was flying so low(I est.1500 to 2000 ft)I fully expected to see it when it cleared those trees.I came down the ladder as fast as I could and ran around to the other side but it had vanished. It could not have been more than 5 seconds. Please tell me what was it?

saw the same thing myself, called for my son to come outside, just when he did the big thing did something and about 50 or 60 real small ones were all over the sky and the big object was gone, don’t know what it was but I am glad someone else saw something similar because no one believes us. could not be a blimp, you can here the motors this was silet.

Brands of cigars

Cuban cigars brands are worth special mentioning. The reason is the weird demand of it among the mass despite it being banned by the government itself! It is very effortless to like your desired original cigars today unlike in the past when counterfeits ruled. No, I am not talking of cigars you might expect to receive as present, neither am I meaning of the fake ones but the true cigars through internet cigars online supplies. At present there are several cheap cigars stores from where you can simply and in safety order your favorite brand of original cigars at reduced discount prices.

Few years ago, hand made cigars were ruling the roost and smokers had to buy pricey cigars which were presented in limited quantities making you feel anxious of the value or their validity. These days discount cigars are easily presented, a lot from available online cigar dealers, although lower prices. Similar to all discount online cigarette markets, these cheaper cigars online stores reserve and offer tax free cigars purchasing in extremely big bulks so as to be able to put off any unpleasant price effect shipping may cause. Discount cigars companies willingly pass on all cash advantages onto regulars that are eager to pay money for cigars online.

Original cigars, such as Cuban cigars, original Bolivar, Cohiba, Montecristo cigars, are shipped to patrons’ places by cigars online stores in little packages, taking into consideration, unusual shipping options so as to workout cheaper end user cost. It is undoubtly useless to put refrigeration and international assurance to this by an online cigars supplies with high volume turnout.

From a cigar specialist’s viewpoint, the best manner to benefit from smoking high-quality genuine cigars at discount prices is to get their favorite cigars online. A system to get advantage from a reasonably big price cut is to browse for discount sales. If you are a client having your own humidor, buying cigars stored in inexpensive matches or bags undeniably saves a few dollars, but ahead of enjoy your cigar bear in mind to maintain them in your humidor.

I have noticed some cigar regulars avoiding top genuine cigars under the presumption of excessive price. Take it from me, premium cigars are also sold at cheap prices on various occasions. So don’t be under impressions that because they are called ‘discount’ that it makes the top of the block cigars any inferior. It happens when discount cigars stores may surprise you by presenting their own trimmings or fine case as a kind of souvenir. Some online cigars stores sell discounts to their patrons on every purchase, small present or garnishes and special rights etc.

Whatever the case, with cigars online industry getting larger by the day, each online market is trying to woo the cigar clients in their own way. It would be convenient to accept shame, well intentioned souvenir along the way without expecting to avail cash discounts every time. But it is not all time the tempt of discounts that drive the client, particularly those young people that take up smoking cigars. The affluence, the discrete aura surrounding them, the inhanced affordability and availability also has a play in the whole increase of sale of cigars which also effectively nullify the nervousness about discount cigars.

It is not easy to select the Christmas gift that will please to everyone: we never know if the
gift will be appreciated by its recipient.

How many times have you received a gift that is never emerged out of the cupboard in which you
putted it?

I myself received hundreds of gifts that I do not use, especially at Christmas Time. And I do
not mention the decorative objects, that I do not know what to do with because they do not match the decoration of my house or simply because I have no place to put them on.

This year, try to give useful and/or consumable Christmas gifts. By giving something useful and
consumable such as skin care products or food products, you are sure that your gift will be
appreciated.

Christmas gift baskets are the solution.

Unfortunately, ready-made gift baskets can be expensive and we sometimes have to spend a lot of
money to buy them without being sure that all the contained products will please.

So, what about a homemade Christmas gift basket? It is an excellent way to save money on the
cost of the basket and products included. You even do not have to buy the basket.

Gift baskets can be easily made out of wooden boxes, briefcases made of leather or vinyl, or
shoe boxes nicely decorated…

If the products you plan to include in the basket are too expensive, you will be able to reduce
their number and save more money.

Here are some Christmas gift basket ideas.

“Rustic Gourmet”:

Varnish a wooden wine case, use a “rustic oak” tinted varnish
Fill the case with decorative straw or unbleached silk or crepe paper
Add the following products:

– Three bottles of wine (red, rose and white),
– A pot of fat liver,
– 2 legs duck confit,
– A pot of deer pate,
– A pot of wild boar,
– Three jars of wine jelly (red, rose and white),
– A pot of onion confit,
– A pot of truffles.

Economic Option:
– A bottle of sweetened white wine,
– A pot of deer paté,
– A pot of wild boar,
– A jar of wine jelly

“I Love Chocolate”:

Use a metallic box,
Fill it with pink silk or crepe paper
Add the following products:

– A bottle of chocolate liquor,
– 250 g Leonidas chocolates,
– Chocolate bars – Côte d’Or Special Edition,
– A natural cocoa box,
– Boxes of fruit, flower or citrus flavoured sugar

“Espana Por Favor”:

In a metallic basket, place red and yellow silk or crepe paper
Add the following products:

– A bottle of Ponche,
– A bottle of “Sangre de Toro” wine
– A pata negra ham or serrano ham,
– A chorizo,
– A “Manchego” cheese,
– A bottle of Spanish olive oil,
– Almond Turron,
– An assortment of Christmas cookies (Surtido de Navidad)

“Provence” (skin care):

Cover a shoebox with Special Christmas gift wrap
Line the inside with colorful silk paper
Surround the box with a wide colored ribbon
Put a towel of the same color
Add the following products:

– A Marseilles scented soap,
– A shower gel,
– A box of bath salts,
– A bottle of body scented oil,
– A bottle of floral water,
– A horsehair glove

“Belgian Beer Discovery” Gift Basket:

Use a wooden shelf and put the bottles on it. Belgium produces more than 680 different sorts of

high quality beers that satisfy all tastes, the choice is yours…

You can create an infinite themed gift baskets set; do not hesitate to create a gift basket for

whiskey, cigar, great music, book amateurs… you are only limited by your imagination.
