I’m no connoisseur of cigars, I smoke very rarely. When I do, however, I want one that’s sweet tasting.
In the past it’s been kind of hit and miss. Last time I bought one, it tasted like a cheap cigarette. Any ideas of one I could buy that’s affordable and tastes good?
Thank you!
First, stay away from gas station “cigars” such as Black & Mild, Swisher, Phillies, White Owl, etc. While their tips are sweetend, they are little more than waste tobacco and garbage rolled in cigarette paper. Cigar smokers cringe at the mention of them.
Drew Estates makes a line of smokes that are sweet. Also try the CAO Flavours. These are real cigars with with a sweet tip.
I personally prefer cigars that don’t interfere with the natural tobacco flavor such as Avo and Montecristo.
Cigar Connoisseur – Cigar Of The Week July 22, 2009
so i hear that you must try an acid cigar at least once so i would like to know what is a good acid cigar for a beginner cigar connoisseur.
Acid Cigars from Drew estates are phenomenal, but to a true Cigar Aficionado many don’t take flavored cigars seriously.
That said, I love them.
I choose mine based off of my cigar needs. Do I want a quick burst of flavor? Do I want to sit and enjoy a longer burning cigar? Do I want a creamy or more robust wrapper? Acid has a huge line of cigars. Try a sampler pack to see what best fits your smoking enjoyment…
Below is a great overview of Acid Cigars that I found online.
The Acid Blue cigar line, or Remi line, has a creamy Connecticut wrapper and is the perfect relaxation cigar. In fact, the Acid Kuba Kuba and Acid Blondie are both best sellers, which says a lot for how popular this line is. Using a combination of mild tobacco, delicious natural herbs, essential oils and floral botanicals, this line is incredibly unique. Once you open up a box of Acid blue, you’ll know that this isn’t your traditional cigar. Drew Estate certainly wasn’t trying to make a Nicaraguan Cuban cigar, this is a cigar unlike anything you’ve ever tried before.
The Acid Red cigar line is the most powerful smoke of them all. Using black tobacco and a delicious Maduro wrapper, these Acid cigars still maintain that unique flavor while packing a punch. Once you light an Acid Red cigar, the flavor and aroma will overwhelm your senses, sending you on a journey until that last puff. These cigars are for the smoker who enjoys a strong smoke, but also enjoys the infused essential oils and natural herbs that Acid cigars has become famous for.
The Acid Gold cigar line features cigars that excite the palate and relax the smoker. The Acid Cold Infusion Tea is the perfect smoke for the beginner who’s looking to get his or her foot in the door. Being almost a Churchill sized cigar, the Acid Cold Infusion Tea is so delicious that you’ll never want it to end. Full of flavor, combined with an incredibly smooth wrapper, the Acid Cold Infusion Tea is something that not only a novice would enjoy, but an aficionado as well. The Acid Atom Maduro and Acid Earthiness are also in this line, and both these cigars, although different, share the same astounding qualities that the Acid Cold Infusion Tea does. You can’t go wrong with any cigar in this line.
The Acid Purple cigar line is full of cigars that contain a hybrid of oils and botanical infusion that any smoker can’t deny. It’s no wonder that Drew Estate only allows a handful of people besides it’s employees to enter their temple-like factory every year. Their hundreds of oils that they use to infuse their cigars are kept secret, and we don’t care what they do as long as they keep producing quality products like the Acid Purple cigar. From the large Extraordinary Larry to the tiny C-Note, this line contains it all.
The Acid One cigar is very unique in that it’s the only cigar in the Acid cigar line that is not an aromatic cigar. The tobaccos used for the Acid One are cured with five select premium red wines, all from different countries. The Acid One is wrapped in a tasty Cameroon leaf that has been cured for an additional ninety days. A fantastic after dinner cigar, the Acid One cigar stands out from the crowd and has become a favorite among many of our customers.
For a unique cigar in the Acid cigar line, try the Acid Wafe. Your eyes aren’t fooling you, the Acid Wafe is only a third of an inch thick and five inches long. The amount of flavor that is packed into this tiny cigar, is a testament to Jonathan Drew and his employees. They are so proud of this cigar that it is actually the only cigar that has ever been patented.
