Can you put temporary wallpaper border over permenant wallpaper without ruining the wallpaper under it?
We’re looking to move into a house that has a game room with a cigar, humidor theme including a cigar wallpaper border. Neither I nor my boyfriend smoke and we don’t want to encourage people to smoke in our home. So I need to find a way to cover up the cigar wallpaper border without damaging it. Thanks!
Forgot to mention that we’ll be renting the house and the less damage we do to the place, i.e. putting holes in walls or ceilings, the better.
No my friends are not morons but I have relatives that might see it as an invitation(They’re real nicotine fiends) and would use the decor as an excuse.
You will need to apply a couple of coats of wallpaper sizing over the existing border. Let dry and then you can wallpaper over it. When you go to remove try peeling up an edge and spray hot water over it to start peeling it off using the hot water spray between the 2 wallpapers. Clean the wall with some soapy water and you should be good to go.
