buy romeo and juliet cigars

I am traveling to the Canary Islands and I want to know if it is possible to buy cuban cigars there?
I am going to the island of Tenerife. I know you can buy local hand made cigars, but I’m looking for real cubans. Like montecristo, and cohiba and romeo y juliet. Please help.
I think the US is the only place that has a trade embargo against Cuba. I was in Canada last month,and they were available everywhere. I was told not to try taking them back across the border into the US,they would be confiscated.
