storing cigars in tubes
Cigars -should they be taken out of their metal tubes and/or removed from their plastic wrapper before…?

…placing them in a humidor? Seems to me that they won’t achieve proper humidification if they’re wrapped in plastic or stored in a sealed metal tube. What say you?

Cigars in a sealed glass or metal tube should already be humidified. For storing, you could open the tube and place the opened tube in your humi

As for the cellophane, its a matter of personal preference – leaving them on will protect them if you decide to carry them later. Cellophane is porous and will alllow humidity to pass thru.

North Carolina Cigarette prices?

A couple weeks ago cigarette prices in Shelby north carolina where i live went up dramatically, Newports generally being around $3.75 a pack after taxes went up to around $4.59 after taxes. I know up north around New Jersey it has been very very high for awhile now. I was wondering what state has the most expensive cigarettes and what state has the cheapest? And will they ever go down?

NC is still close to the cheepest. I dont have stats to give you though. And no, after these tax hikes they will never go back down. In fact, I see these tax hikes as starting the road to ban smoking. With the economy the way it is, after the next tax hikes over the next several weeks, many smokers are going to have no choice but to quit. Once the economy is back in shape, fewer people will be smokers and the prices will be higher than they are today, so hopefully fewer people will start.

Why do cigars crack and unwrap when they are smoked?

I bought a premium cigar (Perdomo Lot 23 maduro) from a reputable cigar shop on a Wednesday and placed it in my humidor. When I lit 4 days later on Sunday it started cracking and the wrapper was coming off in very thin “flakes”.
I was only able to smoke about half of it before it became too unpleasant and I abandoned it.
Is it too dry, too moist, or did I just get a bad cigar?

Most likely too dry, but it could be too wet as well.

As for removing the cellophane before placing in the humi – it doesn’t really matter one way or the other as cello is porous

The best way to check how your cigar is, is to GENTLY squeeze it. If it has a light ‘rustling’ sound, it should be just right. Loud crackles and it is too dry. If it compresses, too wet.

Do you really believe that Bush Jr. started this war just 3 months into his 1st term?

Or is it plauseble that Clinton was ‘putting ‘ on a side show to keep us distracted with ‘cigars’, blue dresses’ and dum questions like “and what exactly is s*x ?” and the plans were being continued from when Bush sr. was in office?
asianman , no I don’t because I have never ask this question and besides a troll asks questions or makes comments that either changes the subject or makes people mad,,,

I imagine it goes back even further than that … early 80’s, if I had to guess.
