dc cigarette lighter adapter
someone with good electrical knowledge please answer!?

basically i want to put neons in my room however there for a car (12V DC). i was thinking of getting a plug which at the other end has a cigeratte lighter input so i can plug them in but is it safe?
The neons are:- Input voltage: DC 12V, Current draw: 0.5A

The plug – cigarette lighter input:- Input: AC 90v – 240v \ 50\60Hz 80mA, Output: DC 12v \ 450mA

the 2 products and specs are shown below…

Neons:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110261902281&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=001

Home adapter:

I would up the home adapter current spec. Neons have a tendency to drift and draw more current as they age. A 1 A would not be out of line. As it is you most likely will get a few months before they pop.

Cigarette smoking has been associated with a high prevalence of sleep-related complaints. However, its effects on sleep architecture have not been fully examined. The primary objective of this investigation was to assess the impact of cigarette smoking on sleep architecture.

Sleep disturbances are a common side effect of nicotine withdrawal. Some people will sleep much more than usual through this phase of cessation, while others have difficulty getting any sleep at all. If you find yourself suffering from insomnia during the first few weeks after you quit smoking, try a few of these natural remedies to ease your discomforts.

Remember, the physical withdrawal phase of quitting tobacco is a temporary condition. Your sleep patterns will return to normal soon, providing you didn’t have insomnia before cessation. If symptoms persist beyond the first month or so, schedule a visit with your doctor. The current lifestyle greatly affects the sleeping pattern of human beings. Among many causes, smoking is one main cause for sleeping disturbances.

Smokers spend more time in a light sleep. Non-smokers spend more time in a deep sleep, allowing them to feel more awake the next day. A reason for this is nicotine and its impact on the brain.

Smoking cigarettes impairs sleep quality, possibly because of nicotine withdrawal, according to a study in the February issue of Chest, the journal of the American College of Chest Physicians. The study is among the first to isolate the effects of smoking on sleep. In previous research, it was unclear whether changes in sleep patterns were from smoking itself or from the medical conditions underlying smoking such as heart or respiratory disease. A strong correlation was found between smoking and various complaints of ill health as well as between smoking and sleep duration and quality of sleep. The results suggest that there is a strong relationship between the constituents of tobacco smoke and poor sleeping habits.

Cigarettes contain nicotine that affects sleep. It is a stimulant that keeps you awake. But smokers are not aware of this fact. Rather they claim that a puff of cigarette smoke makes them feel calmer and helps them relax. On the contrary, nicotine stimulates the mind and the body. It interferes with the body’s ability to fall and stay asleep. Nicotine is a stimulant drug that once it wore off threw the smoker into a physiologically depressed state. To overcome this depressant effect the smoker would smoke again to stimulate him or herself. Soon it would wear off and the endless cycle would be repeated over and over. Blood sugar and hormone levels would skyrocket, only to come crashing down later. By the end of the day the smoker could be physically exhausted from this chronic stimulant/depressant roller coaster. They had to adjust their sleep around these effects.

The availability of objective data on sleep architecture, with self-reported information on smoking status, provides an opportunity to characterize sleep architecture among current, former, and never smokers in a large community-based sample. Previous analyses of a subset of the cohort have shown that current smokers and former smokers, compared with never smokers, have greater amounts of stage 1 and 2 sleep.

Cigarette Price in St Louis, MO?

I smoke camel lights and can’t get a price on a pack over the phone. Can anyone from that area help me please?

Packs generally run about $3.25-$3.75 for a pack of Camels. Cartons are around $23.99-$29.99…it really all depends on where you go.

Going over to the Illinois side of the river will be even more expensive. Packs generally run around the $4.50-$5.00 range.

Put This in Your Pipe and Smoke It – Top 5 Nicaraguan Cigars

What in the world do all of these wild words have in common? No, they’re not ways to swear in Croatian! But, they do share a unique bond.

They are all incredible wines and vineyards in Croatia – an emergent connoisseurs’ destination that has actually long been a producer of the finest wines in the world.

With its rich soils and temperate climate, each region of Croatia – from Istria to Slavonia to Dalmatia – has been releasing amazing wines for centuries, largely under the radar of the international community. Long having taken a backseat to the French, Italian, and Spanish wine dynasties, Croatia is making its mark on the international scene with the finest wines found anywhere on the planet.

Just like its booming real estate market that has become one of the best in the world after declaring independence a decade and quickly establishing itself as one of the best places in the world to invest, the Croatian wine industry is benefiting and experiencing a renaissance as well. From the center of the wine revolution in Slavonia to the upstarts in Istria and all along the Dalmatian Coast, Croatia is home to the world’s best wine makers, wines, and established and up-and-coming brands.

With so many great wines to choose from, the problem for the wine aficionado and the newbie alike becomes not “How can I find the best Croatian wine,†but where should I even start? To help you make your way through the Adriatic Sea of choices, let’s take a look at three all-time favorites.

3. Sangreal Shiraz Limited Edition – 2004 – from Bibi? vineyards in Dalmatia

Characteristics: dry, dark, spicy, fruity with a hint of mint and green pepper

Located near Skradin in northern Dalmatia, the Bibli? vineyards, owned by Alen Bibi?, creates a wide range of delicious wines that are emblematic of the long history of northern Dalmatia and the Dalmatian hinterland wines. This dry, dark red wine created from syrah grapes is Alan’s favorite and the pinnacle of the entire collection. With grapes that have been harvested from 40-year-old vines in the decadently rich vineyards of Nadin near Zadara along the coast. After being aged in French oak for 18 months, this exquisite, award-winning wine is an aromatically raucous event filled with spices, green pepper, peppermint and dark berry fruits and ridiculously strong and appealing tannins. A charming addition to any collection, this wine – suitable to age for decades – pairs delightfully with lamb, game, spicy sauces and even aged cheeses.

2.Anima 2003 – from Vina MatoÅ¡evi? d.o.o. in Istria

Characteristics: dry, unmistakably bold

If you’re looking for a run-of-the-mill wine from Ivica Matoševi? or his award-winning winery, keep on moving. The Anima chardonnayis characteristic of all the wines produced in this boutique vineyard. Low yields, cold fermentation, the barrique standard for all his white wines, this winery is charting new territory in the western Istria region.

Long known for its wines within the country, Matoševi? is understood to be the revolutionary who single-handedly resuscitated the entire Istrian wine industry and allowed it to begin challenging the ‘big boys’ of other commercial European wines.

This, the winery’s best vintage, is a singularly distinct chardonnay that redefines white wines across the world. If you are a white wine connoisseur or a red-wine-loving skeptic, this wine will undoubtedly change the way you think about white wines, Croatia, and the possibilities of palatial tantalization… yes, it’s that yummy!

1. Venje – from Enjingi Vineyards in Slavonia

Characteristics: fruity, honey, vanilla, flowery, sweet spice with buttered finish

Slavonia is the birthplace of all private wine production in Croatia, so it only makes sense that Ivo Enjingi and his Venje masterpieces have been awarded more medals than most of the wines in Croatia combined. His Venje is the absolute pinnacle of this award-winning collection.

This is the holy grail of all white wines… with a general appeal that has such sophistication it bears glass after glass to study (and enjoy) its complexity that is disguised in a simplicity that is simply blissful. A party with the most exclusive guest list of flavors, Venje dances from tropical fruits to barrique tones and smoky elegance. It’s a wine with a significant 14.3 alcohol by volume, but that has a lingering full, soft, and pleasing caress. If anything, it’s a little sparse on acidity, but all in all, it’s a wine that can’t be missed when taking a tour through the Croatian countryside. Definitely a champion in any way, shape, or form!

As you can quickly see, the Croatian wine revolution is in full swing – a rich variety of varietals that is unmatched anywhere in the world. With its fascinating history, the Croatian wine story is one that can’t be missed. When you swish, swirl, and drink any of the above wines, you’ll know that you’ve found a new favorite in all things Croatian.

Clarksville neighborhood just North of West Sixth Street and East of MoPac has managed to maintain its intimacy. Thanks to its historic roots, Clarksville has been protected from growth, but the adjacent West End area with its anchor in the so-called Central Design District at Lamar and Sixth means local Austin residents get the best of both worlds — a taste of urban living in a quiet, old neighborhood.

In the 1860s Texas Gov. Elisha Pease sold some of his plantation in the area to slaves who built homes there. A decade later Charles Clark, a freed slave, started the community named in his honor. Eventually, as Austin grew at the turn of the century, the area was developed and the old plantation became part of the city. One of the last Clarksville residents descended from the freed slaves died just a few years ago. Now, the area is favored by young families, professionals looking for a quiet place to live and some of Austin’s creative residents who enjoy the lower rents some small apartments in the area offer.

In keeping with Clarksville’s quiet atmosphere, the small commercial center on West Lynn Street has a village-like feel. At Nau’s Drugstore, the soda fountain looks much as it has for decades and the milkshakes are still made the same way. One of the premier places to eat in Austin, Jeffrey’s, is in the heart of Clarksville and its understated design and eclectic menu is quintessential Austin. While Jeffrey’s does wonderful things with Texas game and seafood, neighboring Cosmic Cafe, formerly West Lynn Cafe, caters to Austin’s vegetarian taste buds.

Many residents choose to shop at the neighborhood Fresh Plus store, although Whole Foods’ landmark store is just a few blocks East at Lamar and Sixth. There are nearby dry cleaners and a garden center in the neighborhood, also.

Other foodie favorites include legendary Sweetish Hill Bakery, just a couple of blocks West of Lamar, favored for breakfast coffee and pastry, wonderful lunchtime sandwiches and special holiday pastries. Portabla on Sixth and Cipollina on West Lynn offer take-out food for dinner and picnics, and Wiggy’s Liquors on Sixth is the Austin neighborhood favorite for wine and cigars. Longtime Austin favorites, Z-Tejas, Cafe Josie and Castle Hill Cafe are popular cafes in the neighborhood.

The daily witticism posted on the big sidewalk message board at the funky El Arroyo restaurant on Fifth Street is a neighborhood fixture, but new shops and cafes along Fifth and Sixth are bringing a new sophistication to the area. A growing number of galleries are choosing to locate in the Clarksville neighborhood, also, and one of Austin’s best Latin-American import stores, El Interior, is on West Lynn Street.

The hilly neighborhood makes for great evening walks and there are two small neighborhood parks — Clarksville Park and West Austin Park — and both have summer wading pools. For runners and cyclists, Shoal Creek hike and bike trail is a few blocks to the Northeast and, of course, Zilker Park is just a few blocks South.
